Journey to the Center of a The Earth 3D Review By ME

Hi again,,,recently, i watched Journey to the Center of the earth 3D,,,and I mean the 3D one. It was shown in only 3 cinemas nationwide: Midvalley,Suria KLCC and Sunway Pyramid. Being a Brendan Fraser and 3D movies fan,,i told myself that I have to watch this movie.
The movie itself was a special experience, coz it was shown in DOLBY DIGITAL 3D format, whish is something relatively new in Msia.

Ok ,this is how it went....
When We reached to GSC midvalley, there was a special counter designated for the sale of Journey 3D tickets only. One ticket was RM17,,,which was about RM6 more expensive than a regular movie. We bought the tickets and proceeded into Hall 4. Before we entered, we were presented with a pair of DOLBY 3D glasses. P/S, GSC actually purchased these glasses at 50USD each(aboutRM150)...it was just exciting. We then took our seats and enjoyed the movie. To be frank, the 3D effects were not up to my expectations. this is because of the small size of the screen which cripples the 3D effect. However the picture quality and sound effects were crisp and crystal clear,,thanks to a new 3D projector. In all, the movie was fun, touching and enjoyable. Nevertheless I would recommend that you stick to the 2D version if possible!!

The Mummy: Tomb of The Dragon Emperor Review

Hi everyone, this is my own review of the The Mummy: Tomb of the dragon emperor. I managed to catch this at Midvalley Megamall. Overall it was a great movie. Let Me break it Up:

ACTING:

I think the acting was good. One person that deserves accolades is Maria Bello for being able to take on Rachel Weisz's role of Evelyn, well. SHe managed to adopt a British accent to match Rachel Weisz personality and character. Brendan Fraser was good, as usual as the MUMMY-KILLING hero. However, Luke Ford as Alex sholud have been replaced by a different actor of more calibre. Michelle Yeoh played her STEREOTYPE role of an ass-kicking kung fu heroine well. John hannah was as witty as ever as Jonathan. Finally, Jet Li i think suited the role of The Dragon Emperor, although his role is quite limited.

PLOT:

Whatever said and done, the plot here cannot come close to the rich plot of the first and second Mummy movies. However I liked the Introduction of the origin of the emperor and how he was cursed by a witch. Overall there wasn't really any subtance in the plot, however, the action scenes are simply heart-pounding and breathtaking....and I mean It. The chase scene between the O'Connells and the emperor in the beginning was just superb. The battle in the himalayas which included a few yetis was even better. I was a tad dissapointed though that the film was substantiallly shorter than its predecessors.

CONCLUSION:

In a nutshell, it was simply a great experience watching the mummy 3. Being an avid Mummy fan, I was not let down although it did have a few flaws here and there. Well I really recommend that you watch it as it will leave you spellbounded!!

P/S: Roger Ebert a renowned movie critic from the US gave it 3 out 4 stars!!!

My Final Verdict: 4 out of 5 STARS
