Death Race Review- Another Solid Statham Show

Hi Everyone. I Finally managed to watch the much talked about Death Race, starring Jason Statham. I watched it I Midvalley Megamall (Hall 13) .

The Plot:

Although the movie is an all out action movie, it does not falter in its plot. Somehow it manages to come up with a plot that is (although not as interesting as the action scenes) quite feasible and entertaining. Jason Statham plays the role of an innocent man wrongly sentenced to Terminal Island Prison. Here, he is forced to take part in the Death Race, in order to free himself. Here onwards the story gets more interesting.

The Action:

This is definetely the pillars that supports the movie. The racing scenes are simply breathtaking and gives the audience and adrenaline rush. Couple with the THX sound system ,I was blown away by the effects. The most surprising part was that very little CGI was used in the action scenes, which made more realism. The chasing and racing sequences were mind blowing with language and gruesome violence thrown in the mix making up for a hell of a good time.

The Acting:

Jason Statham comes in his stereotype role of hard action man, and he plays it well. The actress Natalie Martinez dissapoints with her poor acting that is forgettable; however she plays her eye-candy role extremely well.

OVERALL VERDICT:

In all, it was an entertaining ride that never dissapointed me at any point. Although riddled with flaws, the intensity and originality of the superbly executed chase scenes make up for this. After all what can you expect from a Jason Statham movie?
