QUARANTINE-Succesfully Creeped ME

Hi guys. I watched the latest CLOVEFIELD-ala-BLAIR WITCH PROJECT at KLCC -Tanjung Golden Village Cinemas.

Plot:

Being a gore horror movie, one should not expect a great story...and Quarantine lives up to that reputation, however not to the typical as it does have apretty good story line that unfolds at the ending. It kept me at the edge of my seat(or actually curled up in my seat---scared) with the element of SUSPENSE that really scared the wits out of me. Although this film is a reamke of a spanish horror REC it still impressed thanks to stellar directing by John Dowdle. Besidesbeing filmed with a relatively lower budget, it did manage to thrill because of effective suspense+effects.

Acting:

Jennifer Carpenter (pic above) who plays the lead role of Angela Vidal truely was the star of the show. Her acting was so damn realistic that it made me feel like I was trapped in that Los Angeles Apartment. Her acting is without a doubt commendable to the highest degree. Viewers will remember her from Exorcism of Emily Rose, another flick where she showed her acting prowess.

Overall:

Being a movie 'recorded with a handheld camera' it scared the daylights out of me, much more compared to Cloverfield. In fact Quarantine is the first movie to have scared me since....ages. John Dowdle and Jennifer Carpenter deserve accolades for their roles as director and actor respectively. On top of that, the cinematography, though almost arthritis-ly shaky, adds to a already super thrilling -scary movie! It may look like a B-Grade Flick, but trust me, as a movie enthusiast , i can guarentee u will enjoy it-as they say good things come in small packages!
